In this week’s episode of The Pause, somatic psychotherapist Fran Woodruff unpacks why midlife stirs up old survival strategies, how unmet needs show up as rage or burnout, and why menopause can be a powerful rite of passage rather than an ending.
Fran’s message: This is hard, but it can also be the richest, most authentic season of your life.
Chinese medicine practitioner Rima Truchanis also shares how ancient wisdom helps us move through menopause with more balance. From yin and yang to finding your voice, Rima reminds us that this is a time to come home to ourselves — body, spirit, and all.
Tune in for a grounded, heartening chat about the art of balance, the beauty of change, and the power of embracing our next season.

Enjoy the episode, share with friends and we’d love you to comment/rate/review so other folks can find us!

SPECIALIST BIO

Fran Woodruff

Fran offers Hakomi-informed somatic pyschotherapy to help her clients gently uncover and shift unconscious, body-held patterns that may be limiting their life. This work is slow, mindful, and deeply respectful of the intelligence of a person’s nervous system.

At the heart of her work is a deep commitment to supporting clients in rewiring their nervous system, shifting outdated patterns, and opening to new possibilities.

Fran lives off-grid in the bush just outside Castlemaine with her loyal dog, Bella, and is mother to a wonderful 24-year-old son. Nature is one of her greatest teachers, and she often weaves the natural world into her sessions — through imagery, sensory awareness, or even meeting outdoors when appropriate.

Her practice is grounded, present, and attuned — with both the softness of mindfulness and the strength of lived experience.
